So, I'm just sitting here in the hotel just chillin'. I really enjoy the fact that so many hotels now offer some form of broadband. It really adds a nice feature to the hotels that previously wasn't there. It used to be AC and free HBO, now it's wifi and showerheads. The hotel that I'm in is owned by Holiday Inn, it's called Candlewood Suites, it seems pretty nice. Has a little kitchenette and everything. Too bad that I'm only here for a day, so that won't be used.
The drive up here wasn't too bad, it was rainy the whole way, but I use that great Rain-X windshield wiper fluid to help with the rain. It was the longest drive that I've had in a while and overall it wasn't too bad. I rotated through Sirius Radio and the audio book...I didn't even turn on the iPod. About 3 hours into the trip I stopped and grabbed something to eat. I ate at Applebees...didn't want fast food. Unfortunately, I hate eating in a restaurant by myself...so that was a bummer. I should have brought my book in with me, because I'm really at a loss at what you do sitting by yourself. I ended up spending most of my time checking news on my cell phone. They had ESPN on the TV, but closed captioning wasn't on, so I couldn't watch that. The only other thing to do was look at people, but you can't really do that either.
My website has been pretty busy today with hits from people searching for that Ludwig kid's website. Nearly 100 people came in, and everyone got the hell out right away. I guess that I should put a picture of a naked women up or something so they stay awhile. Perhaps I should have talked about the whole situation a little more to get the people to stay for a while. I do have a couple of thoughts on the matter.
Well, Ludwig from his website(s) seemed like a fairly typical 18 year old kid (well, except for the part of killing his 14yo girlfriends parents). He talked about pretty normal stuff on his website. He didn't have any of the creepy posts on his blog like that pedophile creep in Idaho, Iowa, or wherever. I believe that if his actions prove true (which it looks like they will) his friends and acquaintances will have to face the sad truth, that they know a murderer. What makes a *normal* kid do that? Beats the hell out of me, but I know that the teenage years are a trying time, and this kid was probably immature for his age, judging by the fact that he was secretly involved with a 14 year old. There is probably nothing more dangerous or unstable than a legal adult that is immature.
Now, I've read a lot of the comments on his page...there seems to be a couple of different categories:
Cat A: This person goes there purely to say something along the lines of "I can't believe you did that" or "Rot in hell" or the always effective "Enjoy getting butt raped in prison". These people meet resistance from Cat B.
Cat B: This person knows or claims to know the kid. They support them and argue with Cat A. They say that he was a good kid. They often blame the girl for everything.
Cat C: These are your God bless types. Enough said.
Cat D: The curious. They only say something like "I saw you on the news, wow."
Basically Cat B and C confuses the hell out of me. Yeah, you know the guy, but damn people, the evidence is there. There would have to be some serious conspiracy theory crap going on by the girl. The girls sister (13yo) said that she saw Ludwig shoot her dad. So for that not to be true that means that the 13yo is in on it.
Cat C is also out there. I believe in God and all that jazz, but damn! This guy most likely shot two people, offer your support and prayers to other peoples, not an *alleged* killer.
Another thing that I'm wondering about, where is Ludwigs family? I've not heard a single mention about where they are, who they are, or what they are thinking? Are they even alive? Did he shoot them also? There silence doesn't look good on his behalf.
How about the fact that they were found on the run...that never looks good. Besides, what were they going to do? I doubt they had a lot of cash with them. It's obvious that he/she were not hardened criminals...who stays in the same easy to spot red Jetta the whole time?
So, yeah, innocent until proven guilty... it will be interesting how the Bonnie and Clyde duo end up.
