How is everyone today? I'm all right, but I didn't sleep too well. I kept having bad dreams about the wedding. Nothing horrible like the church exploding, but stuff like not many people showing up, seeing Amanda before the wedding, fights, and other needless drama. It wasn't very fun, but it's better than other bad dreams.
There just hasn't been much going on, so I haven't had a lot to talk about. I am pretty close to starting my commentary on news articles again, but we'll see. This past weekend WS came down from up north and we hung out. We had a pretty good time, and boy are we getting older. We have a couple beers, do an Irish car bomb and by midnight we are ready for bed. What the hell? We used to stay up until 4 or 5 in the morning. I guess getting old is just one of those certainties in life.
So far, so good with the diet. I think that I'm down about 9 lbs or so. I am find sticking to it during the week, but the weekends are tough. Saturday wasn't a very good day, but that's ok. If I only cheat once a week it's not the end of the world. The green tea that I'm drinking seems to help take the edge off the hunger. I did some research, and it looks like green tea itself helps to you lose weight, so that's pretty good.
I think that I need to order some more office supplies for my desk...I need to get a paper clip holder. I keep a handful in one of my desk drawers, but that's really not too handy. I'm getting sick of staples too. I am beginning to think that staples are over rater. Where I work everyone loves those big black clip thingies. Yeah, they are nice, but I think that we probably go through more of those than anyone else!
Hopefully my W2 is given to me today, that way I can do my taxes. Hopefully the return is decent, if not I'm going to scream! I'll probably do mine online again this year, it's just so much more convenient. I don't think that I've mailed a return in since like '98 or something. This will also be the last time that I'll be filing a tax return as a single...next year it will be a joint return.
Anyone out there have satellite radio? I got XM the month that it came out (Oct 01) and I have Sirius right now. I like Sirius better, but I question what the hell they are thinking with their one artist stations. Lets look at all of them:
10: E-Street Radio- All Bruce Springsteen all the time. What do they think he is Elvis?
13: Elvis Radio- All Elvis all the time. He's Elvis, so they don't think anything.
31: Radio Margaritiaville- Mostly Jimmy Buffet, but they play other stuff.
98: Rollingstones Radio- Rollingstones 24x7
45: Shady 45- Emenims channel, they play what he wants, although he is never there.
Thats just music, you also have like two Martha Stewart channels and two channels for Howard Stern.
Speaking of Howard, he is the shit. I never listened to his radio show since I was never in a market of his, I'd only seen his TV show. Needless to say, the guy is one of the most bad ass radio personalities ever. I just wish that they played the program over the Internet (via sirius.com) so that I could listen to it. I listen to regular Sirius radio like this pretty regularly, and adding Howard would be nice. I think they will eventually, but they need to build up their bandwidth before they have 3 million people tuning in and listening at work.
Well, that about sums it up.
